Zorlu Energy Plants 3.000 Saplings Around Gökçedağ Wind Plant

Zorlu Energy continues to support sustainable development and carbon emission offseting activites. The company planted 3.000 saplings around its Gökçedağ Wind Plant to cover their carbon footprint which were created by their participation to attending fairs, summits and conferences during 2014.

The Group launched its Zero Carbon Footprint Forests Project in 2010 and in 2015, the project was successfully continued in Osmaniye (where the plant is located) with this planting event in the presence of Zorlu Energy executives, environmentalist volunteers, the village students and Zorlu PR Team.

Gökçedağ Wind Plant project was rewarded to “Sustainability Award”  by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development-EBRD) in 2013. It had also received “Best Wind Plant Finance Model Award of Year 209″ in Europe. Last,  the project won the “Wind Energy Grand Prix” at the ICCI 2014 Energy Oscars.
